Built by a board member,
for board members.
I'm a software developer and HOA board president in Lawrenceville, Georgia. I built Hivepoint because I couldn't find software that fit a small, self-managed community — everything I tried was designed for property management companies, not volunteer boards.
Why I built it
Our HOA is a 33-lot self-managed community in Gwinnett County, Georgia. For years we ran everything the way most small HOAs do — dues tracking in a spreadsheet, violations in a shared Google Doc, meeting minutes emailed around and promptly lost. Every new board member inherited a mess.
When I went looking for software to fix this, I found two categories: expensive enterprise platforms designed for companies managing hundreds of communities, and cheap dues-collection tools that stopped at the payment button. Neither one was built for a volunteer board president managing 33 homes on a weeknight.
So I built Hivepoint. It's the software I actually use every month to run our HOA — which means I can't ignore problems in it. Simonton Springs HOA has been running on Hivepoint since May 2026 and is our first live customer.
What Hivepoint is
Hivepoint is HOA management software for self-managed boards — the kind where a volunteer treasurer handles dues collection in the evenings, the board president is also the person who mows their own lawn, and nobody has a budget for a property management company.
- One database per HOA — Your data is completely isolated — we don't co-mingle HOA data across customers. You get your own dedicated database.
- Simple pricing — Per-home, per-year. Your cost scales with your community size, not with our feature decisions.
- Direct support — You work with the people who built the software. Not a support ticket queue — direct email access to the team.
- No lock-in — Your data is yours. We provide export tools and can deliver raw exports on request, any time.
What Hivepoint is not
Being clear about what we're not is as important as what we are — it saves everyone time:
- Not for property management companies — If you manage dozens of HOAs professionally, Hivepoint isn't the right tool. We're purpose-built for a single community managing itself.
- Not enterprise software — There's no IT department setup, no corporate SSO, no implementation consultant. Your board treasurer can get up and running without a training course.
- Not self-serve SaaS — We onboard every customer personally. You're not creating an account and figuring it out alone — we set everything up and stay available.
- Not built to scale to 10,000 users — We're focused on doing one thing well: giving small-to-midsize self-managed HOAs (20–500 homes) a tool that actually fits them.
