Do I need IT support to set this up?

No. We handle the entire setup on our end — provisioning your database, configuring your branding, and importing your owner and lot data. Board members install the Windows desktop app like any other program. Residents just open a browser. Most HOAs are fully running within a week of signing up, with zero involvement from an IT person.

Is my HOA's data stored alongside other HOAs?

Accepted Answer

No. Every HOA gets an isolated database — your data is never commingled with another community's records. This is a deliberate architectural decision, not just a setting. Your dues history, violation logs, and owner information are stored separately and can never be accessed by another HOA's account.

Question 3

The board app is Windows-only — what about Mac users?

The board management desktop app currently runs on Windows. In practice, most HOA treasurers and board presidents use a Windows machine for this kind of work — but if your board has Mac users who need access, the Community Edition resident portal works on any device and any browser. We're also evaluating a web-based board view for a future release.

What happens to our data if we cancel?

You own your data. If you cancel, we provide a full export of your records in standard formats (CSV for most data, PDF for documents) before we close your account. There's no lock-in, no data hostage situation.

How long does onboarding take?

For most HOAs, the technical setup takes 1–3 business days on our end. You'll need to provide your lot list, owner names, and any existing dues records — usually a spreadsheet export is fine. From signing to first board meeting in Hivepoint is typically under a week.
